Arabambi Raises Alarm Over Dapo Abiodun, Osoba’s Plans To Remove Him As IPAC Chairman
OLAJIDE OSOBA, ABEOKUTA
The chairman of Inter-party Advisory Council, comrade Abayomi Arabambi has uncovered the alleged plots of the governor -elect and the former governor of Ogun State, Olusegun Osoba to remove him as IPAC chairman.
Arabambi disclosed in a telephone conversation with gateway times.
He also maintained that the duo wanted to remove due to his refusal to withdraw from petition against APC and governor- elect from the election tribunal as a labour party chairman.
”My deputy, Mr Moshood Adesina, and some members of IPAC informed me about the plan to suspend for three months or indefinitely to prevent me from attending the inauguration of Prince Dapo Abiodun as Ogun State governor on May 29”
The IPAC chairman alleged that certain chieftains in APC and PDP loyal to the Ogun governor-elect and chief Osoba offered him money to withdraw his petition from the tribunal, adding that his refusal to oblige to their request was he reason the APC chieftains are allegedly sponsoring his removal.
Arabambi explained that, Chief Osoba believes his refusal to withdraw his petition at the tribunal was to favour the APM governorship candidate in the state, Adekunle Akinlade and the outgoing governor, Ibikunle Amosun because if the election were to be re -conducted in the state, it will favour the APM candidate.
“Let me tell you the bottom line of this uproar in IPAC, my refusal to withdraw Labour Party petition at the tribunal was the cause of this crisis. Look, it is true APC offered me money to withdraw the case, but my refusal amounted to favourism to APM which ignite Dapo Abiodun forces to move against me and mount pressure on PPN national chairman, Hon. Razak Eyiowuawi who later influenced other IPAC members to move for my suspension to allow their preferred candidate, Moshood Adesina of Mega Party to emerge as chairman and Adefemi Omoniyi of KOWA party as secretary.
”My brother (referring to the journalist),I know those behind my ordeal in IPAC and they are just three people. They are; Prince Dapo Abiodun, Chief Olusegun Osoba and Senator Buruji Kashamu of PDP. These three people are the ones fueling crisis in IPAC to shut me out. But I have a message for them. I will not be coerced, harassed or intimidated by anybody to withdraw my case from tribunal, they will only cause unprecedented crisis in IPAC”
Arabambi cannot be removed by anybody unlawfully. I will be ready to prove my alibi, but I can be voted out in our next election as IPAC not by unfounded allegations and some fifth columnists. I know that Mega Party is working for Kashamu, but that should not determine that he should be using them against me.”
“Infact, my life is not save in the hand of this incoming administration. All this their unconstitutional shenanigans constitute a threat to my life and other involved the election petition against APC, INEC and Governor-Elect. I will have to brief our party lawyers over this unlawful infraction and also to formally petition the inspector General of police , The DG of DSS and the presidency. We might have to also write to the Chief Justice of Nigeria to move Ogun Election Petition Tribunal to Abuja for safety”.
Meanwhile, Dapo Abiodun who spoke through on his Media aide assistants
Emmanuel Ojo maintained that, he has no business with Arabambi’s suspension, but rather too busy for the inauguration ceremony and give the good people of the state dividends of democracy they desired.
”That’s a blatant lie. Why will he accused Prince Dapo Abiodun. We have no business with that. At the moment, the most important thing to us is the inauguration and how Prince Dapo Abiodun will settle down in office and serve Ogun State people that duly elected him. The allegation is unfounded, we have no business with that”
”As a matter of fact, we don’t even know if the impeachment threat is even existing, so how will he instigate such when he himself doesn’t even know such thing is happening. To me, I see it as unfounded allegation, that cannot be fully substantiated.”
