“It’s Time We Prove Ourselves Worthy of Respect,” Says Achudume

In a stirring call to action, Apostle Lawrence Achudume, General Overseer of Victory Life Bible Church International, has rallied Nigerians to shake off mediocrity and step into their destiny.

Speaking at a press conference and during the church’s crossover night service in Abeokuta, Achudume lamented the country’s tarnished image, saying Nigeria’s lack of credibility has led to global disdain. “It’s time we prove ourselves worthy of respect,” he declared.

However, he remains optimistic about Nigeria’s future, citing the nation’s global achievements as proof of its potential. “Nigeria is making waves worldwide; let’s bring that success home,” he said, praying for transformative leaders and a thriving nation. Achudume urged Nigerians, especially the youth, to take charge of their lives and “create their own path.” “Opportunities won’t just come knocking; you’ve got to make them happen,” he emphasized, warning against seeking advice from those who aren’t willing to take risks or aren’t successful themselves. “Don’t take advice from those. You are better than,” he cautioned.

The apostle slammed fake holiness, saying genuine faith is about living a life of purpose, not exploiting others through fear and guilt. “They’re using fear and guilt to shortchange vulnerable people for their own good – it’s a scam, plain and simple,” Achudume said, stressing that true leaders prioritize people’s well-being over wealth .
Emphasizing the power of God’s presence, Achudume cited biblical examples of Joseph and David, whose successes were rooted in faith. He urged fellow clergy to live authentically, saying, “Preach what you practice, and practice what you preach.”

As Victory Life Bible Church International launches into 2026 with the theme “On Eagles’ Wings,” Achudume prophesied shocking revelations, divine instructions, and investment opportunities. But he warned believers to be cautious, guard their secrets closely, and avoid those who would sabotage them. “Who wants to know your movement, your secrets, why you’re getting results? Not because they want to help you, but because they want to kill your progress,” Achudume cautioned.

Achudume concluded with a prayer for Nigeria’s agricultural and economic boom, envisioning a future where storms fuel national progress.
