Celebrating My Father, Omo’oba Ademorin Aliu Kuye; The Crown Prince of Peace And Hope

By Akeem Temitope Akilo

Today, I join thousands of well-wishers at home and abroad to celebrate more than a birthday; I celebrate a life devoted to service, dignity, and the quiet strength that heals communities. I celebrate my father—Omo’oba Ademorin Aliu Kuye—whose name has become synonymous with peace, whose presence commands respect, and whose footsteps have traced a path of honour across Ijebuland.

From his formative years, Omo’oba Kuye has carried the burden of responsibility with uncommon grace. He learned early that leadership is not noise but nuance; not force, but fairness. Through seasons of challenge and triumph, he has stood as a bridge between tradition and progress—rooted firmly in our revered customs, yet open-hearted toward the future our people deserve. His past is a testament to sacrifice, generosity, and courage; his present, a mirror of consistency and wisdom.

Baba mi, Ade Kuye is known as a reconciler. In moments of tension, he speaks calmly. In times of division, he offers unity. He invests not only resources but also trust, time, and mentorship—lifting the young, honouring the elders, and strengthening the moral fabric of our land. These are not mere virtues; they are the cultural currency of a true Omo’oba, the quiet authority that commands loyalty without demanding it.

As we look to the horizon, his aspiration to become the Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland stands not as an ambition for self, but as a calling to serve. It is a vision anchored in peace, justice, and inclusive leadership—a throne imagined as a responsibility, not a privilege. Many see in him the temperament of royalty, the patience of a statesman, and the cultural fluency required to guard our heritage while steering Ijebuland toward prosperity.

On this special day, I pray that the ancestors continue to guide your steps, that wisdom crowns your thoughts, and that peace—your lifelong companion—remains your banner. May your years ahead be filled with strength to lead, grace to heal, and the fulfilment of destiny in the service of our people.

Happy Birthday, my father, the Prince of Peace. Ijebuland is better for your life, and history will remember your name with honour.

Your son;
