MAPOLY Mass Communication Class of 2016 Set to Celebrate 10th Anniversary With Award, Prize-Giving Event
The Mass Communication Class of 2016 of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Ogun State, is set to mark its 10th anniversary with a grand celebration featuring an award and prize-giving ceremony.
The event, themed “Naija Hustle to Global Spotlight: Celebrating Excellence,” is scheduled to be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Sweet Lounge & Bar, Asero, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
A major highlight of the celebration will be the COSA 10th Anniversary Award and Prize Giving, alongside a fundraising initiative targeted at raising ₦50 million for the COSA Secretariat.
The event will have HRM Oba Nojeedeen Oladele Ayinla Odugbemi Ali Odudi I, the Onilisa of Lisa Kingdom, as the Royal Father of the Day.
Prof. Goke Rauf, Rector of D.S. Adegbrenro Polytechnic will serve as the Chairman of the Day and Chief Speaker, while Dr. Wasiu Tejuso, Head of the Department of Mass Communication, MAPOLY, will be the Special Guest of Honour and Co-Speaker.
The programme will be compered by Adepeju Salam, with entertainment from DJ Swagger and DJ Eroosa.
Speaking on the significance of the anniversary, the Association President, Oladele Taiwo, said the celebration would provide an opportunity for members of the class to reflect on their journey since graduation and celebrate the achievements recorded over the past decade.
“This 10th anniversary is more than just a celebration. It is a moment to reflect on where we started, appreciate how far we have come, and recognise the contributions of our members to society. We are proud of the achievements of our classmates and look forward to an even stronger future for the association,” Taiwo said.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the COSA Planning Committee, Adams Abass, said the committee had put measures in place to ensure a memorable event while encouraging members, friends, and well-wishers to support the fundraising initiative.
“We have carefully planned this anniversary to celebrate excellence, reconnect members, and create a lasting impact. The ₦50 million fundraising target for the COSA Secretariat is an important part of our vision, and we are calling on members, friends, and well-wishers to support this initiative,” Abass said.
He added that the anniversary would also strengthen the bond among members of the 2016 Mass Communication class and provide an avenue to celebrate individuals who have distinguished themselves in their various fields.
The organisers have announced white and gold as the dress code for the occasion, while maximum security has been guaranteed for guests and attendees.
The event is expected to bring together members of the Mass Communication Class of 2016, academic personalities, traditional rulers, friends, families, and other invited guests.p
