OGUN WATERSIDE, OGUN STATE — Youth leaders in Ogun Waterside have pledged to mobilise no fewer than 6,500 votes for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The commitment was made on Sunday, August 30, 2026, by Comrade Otuyiga Ibrahim, popularly known as IB-OLAT, on behalf of the Ogun Waterside Progressive Youth Caucus, during the APC Ogun Waterside General Meeting.
While reaffirming the youths’ support for the party, Comrade Otuyiga also appealed to APC leaders in the area to ensure the full integration of the youth constituency into the party’s campaign and mobilisation structure.
He said the youth wing remained a critical component of the party’s grassroots mobilisation strategy, stressing that their involvement should go beyond electoral periods and extend to planning, campaign activities and decision-making processes.
The meeting brought together key APC leaders and stakeholders, including the Governor’s representative, Hon. Biyi Adeleye; APC candidate for the Ijebu North/Ijebu East/Ogun Waterside Federal Constituency, Hon. Joseph Adegbesan; APC Ogun State House of Assembly candidate, Hon. Lawal Shamsideen; and Executive Chairman, Hon. Ganiyu Odunoiki.
Others in attendance included Hon. Abudu Balogun, Hon. Akeem Balogun, Prof. Segun Awonusi, Hon. Tunde Rufai, Hon. Abass Wasiu, Asiwaju Odulaja, Hon Ayebusuwa, Hon. Musa Abajo, Chief Tola Alimi and the APC Local Government Chairman, Chief Abiola Logere.
Youth representatives at the meeting included Comrade Tai Olufowobi, Balogun Sulaimon, Obipehin Kayode, Odebata T. and Adams Azeez, among others.
The pledge by the youth caucus is expected to strengthen the APC’s grassroots mobilisation efforts in Ogun Waterside as political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 elections.
The development also highlights the growing emphasis on youth participation and mobilisation as political parties begin to consolidate their structures across the local government.
