I’m Not Working Against Amosun, Says Ogun Speaker

The Ogun State house of Assembly has said that the nullification of the last minutes appointments by immediate past governor, Ibikunle Amosun were not to condemn his adminstration.
The assembly speaker, rt hon Suraj Adekunbi disclosed this on Saturday at the plenary.
He noted that reversal by the house was to ensure that Dapo Abiodun’s administration has a conducive environment to function without hindrance.
”It was unfair to say the decisions were to rubbish former governor’s administration”
”It is unfortunate that people are now saying he is working against Amosun by leading the assembly to undo some of his actions and witch-hunt local government Chairmen and other supporters of the former governor”
Assembly on Friday passed a bill and three resolutions nullifying all appointments and financial agreements made by the Amosun’s administration between February 1and May 28.
The Lawmakers also suspended the elevation of 75 traditional rulers by ex governor, Amosun recently. Same day, the Assembly passed a resolution directing the new Dapo Abiodun government to dissolve a the local government areas and local council development areas in the State.
The majority leader of the Assembly, Yinka Mafe was removed and Olusola Sonuga elected in his place.
”I remain a frontline part of Amosun’s administration and as such will have no reason to attack it”
He however insisted that the assembly took the decisions in the interest of the State.
”Ogun State is greater than all of us and the interest of the state must always supersede all other personal or group interest”

Meanwhile, the deputy speaker. olakunle Oluomo at the plenary explained that the bill was an amendment to the one passed by the Assembly at the inception of the Amosun government to reverse all irregularities, especially on the over 2,000 workers employed by Gbenga Daniel administration a few months to the inception of the immediate past government.
