OGUN TO GET SPORT COMMISSION
As part of efforts to reposition the sport sector in Ogun state, the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun says, a sport commission to be headed by a renowned sport administrator is to be established.
Governor Abiodun during an interactive session with workers in the State at the Arcade ground, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, said government would invest in sports, hinting that a formidable football team that would make the State proud would be formed.
He reiterated that his administration would focus on good governance, security and infrastructure, disclosing that a specialist hospital for treatment of specific diseases would be established in the major towns, while farm settlements would be resuscitated with the aim of turning the State to a food basket of the nation.
Abiodun also said that Ogun – Lagos joint commission would be set up to tap into potentials that existed in the State, as well as address issues of taxation and provision of adequate facilities to border areas for business to thrive.
Earlier in his remark, the State Head of Service, Engr. Lanre Bisiriyu, said workers were delighted to receive the governor, promising that the State workforce would remain committed in the discharge of their duties.
Some Civil Servants at the parley took turn to request for provision of adequate work tools, conducive environment and prompt payment of salaries and allowances, saying they were ready to cooperate and support the administration in its vision to take the State to the next level.
