Ogun Councillors Protest Suspension, Berate Assembly Speaker, Adekunbi
Councillors of All Progressives Congress, APC who defected to Allied People’s Movement under the directive of immediate past governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun yesterday stormed the Ogun state House of Assembly complex in Abeokuta to protest their suspension by the Suraj Ishola Adekunbi led House.
They also warned him not to rubbish Dapo Abiodun’s administration with ‘his selfishness.’
The Chief-whip of Abeokuta south East LCD, comrade AbdulAzeez Oyedele who led the protest disclosed this at the Ogun State House of Assembly, Okemosan, Abeokuta.
”We are saying that the Speaker should lift ban on us, the suspension is totally abnormal, that is selfishness on his part, we were denied out statutory rights, no furniture allowance, we are not paid salaries”
”Imagine he is now telling us he has not right to suspend us that he can only advise the governor to do so, that is a total lie, how will he say such thing, he should not rubbish Dapo Abiodun’s administration”
”The activities of the state Assembly on this matter is totally abnormal, can you imagine the governor was sworn in on may 29 and on the 31st of May the National Assembly passed a resolution, suspending all chairmen and councillors of local government councils when we have done nothing.”
”That suspension should be questionable, we will not agree with them, if they want to which hunt us they should but we will not stop fighting for our rights”
They therefore appealed to the State governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun to intervene in the matter.
