FG Declares Wednesday As Public Holiday
The Federal Government has declared Wednesday, June 12 as public holiday to mark Democracy day in the country.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Mrs Georgina Ehuriah, stated this on Monday in a statement signed by the director Press and public relations of the ministry, Mr Mohammed Manga in Abuja.
This is to celebrate the 25 year anniversary of the annulled 1993 presidential election in Nigeria, and to give honour to the winner of the election, Moshood Kashimawo Abiola.
Ehuriah congratulated all Nigerians at home and abroad for the entrenchment of democratic rule in the country.
The permanent secretary called on Nigerians to continue to cherish the sacrifice made by heroes of democracy in the country.
She wished all Nigerians, at home and abroad, a happy democracy day celebration.
