The ancient town of Ijebu-Igbo, Ijebu North Local Government Area of Ogun State will come alive on Saturday, 21st September, 2019, as governors, former governors, lawmakers, former lawmakers and captains of industry will converge on the town for the 40th day funeral ceremony of the late Alhaja Wulemotu Ebunoluwa Kashamu, the mother of Senator Buruji Kashamu.
Dignitaries across the country have indicated that they will be attending the ceremony and arrangements are in top gear to make it an hitch-free event.
According to the media and publicity committee headed by Austin Oniyokor, various sub-committees have been set up and they are working round the clock with relevant agencies and institutions to make the event a success. The late Alhaja Kashamu died on the 7th of August, 2019, at the ripe age of 96.
Her remains were committed to mother earth in Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun State, on the 8th of August, 2019, according to Islamic rites. Until her death, the late Alhaja Kashamu was a prominent businesswoman, community and religious leader. She was the Iya Suna Musulumi of Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun State.
