Five Dead, 10 Injured In Ogun Auto Crash

No fewer than five people have been reportedly dead while ten others have sustained various injuries during a ghastly accident that occurred on thursday on Lagos – Ibadan Express Way around Onigari, area of Ogun State.
Gateway times gathered that the bus’s driver lost control and collided with the road median with bus upturning and bursting into flames due to excessive speed.
It was also gathered that the registration number of the bus is WWD 302CB
The FRSC Ogun State Sector Commander , Clement Oladele who disclosed this in a statement explained that the auto crash involved a commercial bus that travelled all the way from Sokoto state but stopped briefly in Ibadan to pick other passengers then it lost control due to excessive speed.
According to him, a total of ten Male Adults sustained injuries from the crash but five of the passengers unfortunately died comprising four male Adults and one female Adult .
He also added that the corpses of those killed in the crash have been deposited at the Mortuary of Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, OOUTH, Sagamu.
Oladele therefore commiserated with the families of the crash victims and advised the motoring public of the need to drive cautiously on the Lagos – Ibadan Expressway as the Expressway is still undergoing rehabilitation.
He also urged passengers to caution their drivers noticed driving recklessly and where the driver refused to heed to such caution , the FRSC can be called on the toll free number 122 to report such traffic misdemeanour.
