The Police in Ogun state have arrested a 65 year old man, Sulaiman Rauf for allegedly defiling a 10 year old girl (name withheld).
The State Command spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi disclosed that that the suspect was arrested following a complaint lodged by the father of the victim one Fahinhun Mathew who reported at Idi-roko divisional headquarters.
Gateway Times gathered that Mathew reportedly said that the suspect who lives in their neighborhood sent his daughter on an errand, and “when the girl came back, she was lured into his room where he forcefully had carnal knowledge of her.”
The innocent girl’s father briefed the police further that that the victim had told her immediately she came back that the suspect who is now in police custody had allegedly slept with her.
A further statement by the Command’s Spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi said following the complaint, the Divisional Police Officer, Idi-roko, Aloko Amodu swiftly detailed his detectives who promptly arrested the suspect.
“On interrogation, the randy old man admitted having carnal knowledge of the victim but claimed not to know what led him to it. The victim has been taken to General hospital for medical attention and report,” Oyeyemi said.
He added that the Commissioner of Police, Bashir Makama had ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to Anti-Human trafficking and child labor unit of the state criminal investigation and intelligence Department for proper investigation and prosecution.
