Several tornadoes were reported across Texas in the United States on Friday, injuring at least two dozen people, the AP news agency reported. The storms damaged buildings in many places, left debris on roads and uprooted trees, throwing normal lives out of gear in the south central region. Several videos have surfaced on social media showing extensive damage to infrastructure caused by the storms.
A video – reported from the Paris region – was recorded by a family, showing their house completely destroyed in the aftermath of the storm. Through the sound of the wind, they saw a boy saying, “I’m looking for my cloak,” someone followed him, a man comforting everyone saying: “Don’t worry, we not borrowed.”

Northeast Texas’ Lamar County judge – Brandon Bell — high elected official in the county that includes cities like Powderly, Paris, etc. related a disaster in the area, confirming two dozen injuries due to tornadoes. The sheriff’s office said the tornado hit around 4 p.m. and damaged and destroyed about 50 homes, the AP reported.
In particular, heavy damages have been reported from Powderly, although an official said that no deaths have been confirmed yet. “It’s going to take a long time to clean up, but the community is coming together,” said Randi Johnson, chief of the Powderly Volunteer Fire Department. “It’s really sad to see.”
The National Weather Service has issued an alert it said “the threat of tornadoes, some tornadoes, and damaging winds continues across the ArkLaTex region (Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas) overnight as a strong cold front moves south.”
