The Ogun State governor, prince Dapo Abiodun has vowed that his administration will take sports to the next level in the state.
He also said that he will ensure Ogun State turn to sports reference to other states.
The governor made this known on Saturday at the JAC Motors Abeokuta 10km marathon race organised by the former commissioner for youths and sports in Ogun State, Hon. Bukola Olapade.
” He said, ”we have collaborated with our brother, Hon. Bukola Olapade because we believe that when we participates actively in sports, it gives us the avenue to live an healthy life. We also believe that sports cut across all boundaries, it is something that bound all of us together, it is a unifying factor. It cut across all cultures, religion and political affiliations. Today, there is no political party, no religion, we are all one, one big family.
“We are going to support sports in everywhere. We are going to be an administration that will be characterised by taking sports to the next level and through sports, we are going to brand this state” he stated
The governor appreciated the organisers for bringing in foreign athletes to the state to participate in the marathon race.
