Imran Riaz Khan was arrested in Lahore for making a “violent propaganda speech” aimed at creating “a divide between the public and state institutions”, authorities said. Lawyer Imran Riaz Khan said that the news anchor has been taken into custody from the Allama Iqbal International Airport by the FIA’s cybercrime wing, Dawn reported.

According to the FIR Imran Riaz Khan was “involved in uttering hate speech in public at a gathering which falls under the jurisdiction of the FIA ​​cybercrime cell”, the report said adding that the speech was widely shared on social media platforms in nationally and internationally. .

Last year, Imran Riaz Khan was arrested in connection with a sedition case, Dawn reported. However, Lahore High Court granted bail to Imran Riaz Khan. The FIR also said that Imran Riaz Khan accused the army in his speech and said that they have endangered the stability of Pakistan.
