Photos: Egbe Obaneye Okunrin Earmarks #10m To Empower Members

In order to assist individual members expand their businesses, the Egbe Obaneye Okunrin Age-Group on Saturday launched an empowerment scheme described as a remarkable initiative among the youthful group.

The programme tagged Idokowo Obaneye Okunrin Akile Ijebu was held at the upscale Conference Hotel Ijebu-Ode.

In his opening remarks at the well-attended event, the Baba Egbe of the Regberegbe, Alhaji Moriwiyu Olukayode Bakare, disclosed that the SME seminar was designed to address part of the challenges as a key objectives of empowering members who are owners of SMEs with the requisite knowledge, skills and resources needed to succeed in today’s operating environment.

“Thus, partnering with the Retail Banking Division of Wema Bank Plc, we have designed this programme with series of presentations, training sessions, and mentorship opportunities to assist our members develop the right strategies, make the right business decisions and overcome any obstacles that stand their ways”, Alhaji Bakare added.

Mr Titilope Gafar, the Otun Giwa of the group revealed that a sum of #10m was earmarked to Kickstart the empowerment scheme, where 10 members of the group will be given #1m each to aid their business.

Mr Dotun Ifebogun, the Divisional Head, Retail Banking Division of Wema Bank who gave an indepth presentations on the SME seminar urged the beneficiaries of empowerment scheme to invest the money judiciously so that other members could also benefit from it.
