Prince William ‘really thinking’ about his own safety? Royal plan appears | World news

A week after Charles’ wedding ceremony at Westminster Abbey, it has been revealed that his eldest son Prince William is already planning his own career. The Prince of Wales is in talks with close advisers about how to create a “very different” event than his father’s, according to the UK’s Sunday Times.

Prince William wants to “reform” the ceremony so it is “modern and relevant”, and avoids the “honour of the people” controversy which was involved in King Charles’ engagement, the report said.

“There’s no way he’s going to go down that road or anything like that,” a source close to Prince William told the publication.

“You’re really thinking, how do we make your care feel more useful in the future? He is mindful of the fact that in 20 years, or whenever his time comes, how can satisfaction be modern but still unite the country and the world? I think your merger will look and feel very different,” the source added.

The report also claims that Prince William was not closely involved in the preparations for his father’s accession, and that he declined an offer to have his own investiture ceremony as the Prince of Wales.

But Prince William is keen to host his own at the historic Westminster Abbey, the report added.

On the relevance of the royal family in modern times, Prince William told the BBC in 2016, “It takes up a lot of my thinking about how the world can grow into something modern in today’s world. I think the royal family has to update and evolve as it goes, and it has to be consistent. That’s the challenge for me, how do I make the royal family relevant in the next 20 years? I hope that’s something I can do. “
