Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has warned criminals to stay clear of the State, as his administration would not tolerate any criminal activities that could undermine the peace and tranquillity being witnessed in the State.
Prince Abiodun gave the warning in Abeokuta while playing host to the new Commissioner of Police, Mr. Kenneth Ebrimson, saying, ‘’there will be no room for any criminal in this State’’.
‘’ We intend to keep the peace we are enjoying and that is why we are putting measures in place to ensure that the overflow from Lagos translates into a society, where people can come and live, work and play, without any fear of being attacked, robbed, kidnapped or other criminal behaviour’’, he noted.
Prince Abiodun reiterated that security remained on the front burner of his administration and would ensure that the relative peace in the State was sustained.
“For us, the issue of security is number one. Our vision is to create a conducive environment for Public Private Partnership because we cannot afford to fund all the projects we intend to embark on by ourselves. We have to bring in potential investors to partner with us to enhance the economic potentials of the State”, the Governor stated.
The Governor who commended the outgoing Police Commissioner, Mr. Bashir Makama for doing a good job while in the State, attributed the peace in the State to excellent cooperation and relationship with the police force, in achieving a crime free society.
While pledging that his government would continue to support the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies in the State to discharge their constitutional duties, the State’s helmsman welcomed the new police boss for coming to a familiar terrain, having served in the State in various capacities in the past.
Speaking earlier, the new Commissioner of Police, Mr. Kenneth Ebrimson, pledged to discharge his duty by fighting crime to stand still, to further guarantee safety of lives and property of the people in the State.
