Fear Grips Residents As AMORAN Re-Elect State Exco

Fear of cycle of violence has gripped many residents of Ogun State ahead of the inauguration of The Articulate Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association (AMORAN) executives today, 21st of June, 2023.

It was scooped that separate attacks and clashes had been recorded in the state during the last executive of the union within Ogun state.

The inauguration and swear-in ceremony is scheduled to take place at the association’s office complex in Abeokuta.

Despite efforts of the government to curtail the ugly trend, the union and other criminal elements among the executive have continued to multiply, posing threats to lives and properties in Ogun state.

Speaking with our correspondent a source said, “The problem is that the Danku boys have become untouchable and that is why they have continued to harass and beat people at will.

“Nothing has happened to the one who was fingered in the killing of a young man at Iyana Mortuary in 2022. There are other cases like that and that is why they have continued to violate the law.”

Many residents who have witnessed the reign of violence in the last few years said the decision to Re-elect, Mr. Nurudeen- Alowonle and Danku as chairman and PRO Respectively was ill-advised.

Barely three years of this executive in the state, they have had many fracas within the state, leading to the death of many Ridders and residents.

In 2022, seventeen persons were injured in a crisis involving the Okada riders and the union in different party of the state which forcing angry youths to march to the governor’s office in Oke Mosan.
