3-year-old shoots dead 1-year-old sister in US: ‘The gun was…’ | World news

A 3-year-old accidentally shot and killed their 1-year-old sister in California, it was reported. The event took place in Fallbrook in the San Diego area.

Police said they responded to the child’s call. When they arrived at the scene, they found that the three-year-old had shot and killed their one-year-old brother. The child had found an unsecured handgun in the house.

A one-year-old boy had a head injury. Firefighters transported the child to Palomar Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

“When North County Fire Protection District firefighters arrived on the scene, they found 1 girl suffering from at least one gunshot wound, and in CPR mode,” officials said.

“The family’s 1-year-old child, whose name has not been released at this point out of respect for the family and the fact that he is young, suffered a head injury,” they added.
