Group Hails Sen Solomon Adeola’s Anti-Drug Campaign In Ogun

The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriations, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as “Yayi” has given his support to an anti-drug abuse campaign in Ogun State.

The Ogun West Senator supported the campaign, which is spearheaded by the Yoruba Afenifere Youth Organisation of Nigeria (YAYON).

In an interview, the coordinator of the Yoruba youth group, Arch. Sodeinde Daniel said YAYON is set to hold a rally and seminar against drug abuse among youths in the state.

Arch. Daniel said that the menace of drug abuse is worrisome and calls for concern among our youths, especially secondary school students.

He said, “We have researched very well and see that there is a need for us to address this issue; that is why we are holding the program on the 25th of Nov 2023, and it will be a continuous process throughout the state until we eradicate it to the minimum level in our secondary schools.

“This is not part of our Omoluabi culture as Yoruba people. It is alien to us, and we must stop it.

“We are happy that Sen Adeola Solomon YAYI responded to our call when nobody was ready to listen and take it up upon himself to play his own part in ensuring a way to stop the menace”, the coordinator said.
