Remo North LG Vice Chairman, Taiwo Soniyi Kidnapped
The new Vice Chairman of the Transition Committee of Remo North local government in Ogun East senatorial district of the state, Hon Taiwo Soniyi has been kidnapped.
The sad incident occurred as the young politician was putting finishing touches to join others for their screening exercise by the state House of Assembly at the capital in Abeokuta on Thursday, January 9, 2019.
Gateway Times reliably gathered that Hon Soniyi, a member of the All Progressives Congress was abducted by gunmen around Ipara, his home-town and whisked away to an unknown destination.
Though, when contacted on Friday, January 10, 2019, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi denied knowledge of the kidnap, but a colleague of the politician who preferred anonymity confirmed the incident, and added that Soniyi’s car, which was earlier taken away by the abductors was later found at Fidiwo, in Obafemi Owode local government area of the state.
Another informed source about the kidnap saga said the abductors are yet to make any link with the family.
