Research Fair: TETFUND To Partner Military

The Tertiary Education Trust Fund,(TETFUND), is set to partner the Nigerian Armed Forces in the upcoming national research fair, with the aim of providing adequate security and enabling environment in the nation’s tertiary institutions.

This was made known by the Executive Secretary of TETFund, Arc. Sonny Echono, while playing host to the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, during a recent courtesy call at the TETFUND headquarters, Abuja.

According to him, the Nigerian Armed Forces are playing credible role at keeping the country safe while acknowledging the contributions of the military in technological advancement and use of GPS and other devices, which he said has huge significant success.

The Executive Secretary further said: “We also know that the military has a very strong research component, so we seek this opportunity to renew our invitation to the military to participate in the fair. Participations for all Nigerians, including our schools and the military, will come at no cost to the participants.

In his own response, General Musa saluted the efforts of the leadership of TETFUND in their steps so far.

“The country is going through so many challenges, and we know what education will do. With education people cannot be enslaved. There will be awareness and enlightenment. Some of the challenges we have with insecurity are caused by illiteracy. People being manipulated by some individuals, and because they don’t have a good understanding,” he said.
