The chairmanship candidate of the All Progressives Congress for Ijebu-Ode Local Govt, Hon Sikiru Damilare Alebiosu on Tuesday flagged off his campaign ahead of the November 16 Local government elections in the state.
Alebiosu is the immediate past Vice Chairman of the local government.
The flag-off held at the local government headquarters had in attendance the Commissioner for Finance, Dapo Okubadejo, Commissioner for Transportation, Engr Gbenga Dairo, the House of Assembly Chief Whip, Omolola Bakre, the immediate past chairman of the council, Alhaji Emilola-GazaL among other party leaders in the local government.
Speaking at the gathering, Alebiosu appreciated the party ably led by Gov Abiodun for finding him worthy to be the flag bearer of the party in the forthcoming local government elections.
He said “I want to first of all appreciate the leader of our great party and Governor of our dear state for his proactive leadership and commitment to make life more better for everyone in the state.
“There’s no doubt that we have a Governor, a leader and father whose love for the people of the state remains so huge and I am grateful to him for supporting my desire to contribute my quota to grassroots development”.
Alebiosu said that having served as the Vice Chairman of the local government in recent past, he is well aware of the yearnings of the people of the council area and he would do all that his within his ability to ensure that the people of the local government experience good governance.
He said that his government will pursue infrastructural development, qualitative and affordable education, accessible healthcare, youth and women empowerment among other programmes that will elevate socio-economic development of the local government.
Alebiosu urged the people of the local government to vote the All Progressives Congress in the local government elections as the party is committed to making life much more pleasant and enjoyable for the rural dwellers.
