The Egba Ifa traditionalists under the auspices of Ologun/Olorogun Ìfa traditionalists has lifted the suspension placed on the “Jagunmolu Onifa of Egbaland,” Chief Ifaseun Akiode of Kemta Idi-Aba, Abeokuta, Ogun state, four months after the directive to step back from the above title.
The Chairman, Ologun/Olorogun Ifa Priests of Egbaland and its Balogun Onifa Of Egbaland, Oba Ifarotimi Adifagbola Balogun and High Chief Ifasegun Ayanle and the entire Ologun/Olorogun Ifa Traditionalists announced this while presenting the reinstatement letter to him in Abeokuta.
It should be recalled that the Ologun/Olorogun Ifa Traditionalists had suspended Chief Ifaseun Akiode through a letter dated 2nd of August 2024 and signed by the Chairman and Secretary of Onifa of Egbaland.
In the previous letter, Ayanle said, “I wish to inform you and the Ologun/Olorogun Ifa traditionalists and the entire Onifa of Egbaland, in exercise of power conferred on us, have approved your suspension as the “Jagunmolu Onifa of Egbaland.”
But, while congratulating the recalled Ifa Priest, the Secretary of the group assured that they would continue to work with him as a stabilising force in communities and the entire member of Onifa of Egbaland as a whole.
He, thereafter, urged Chief Ifaseun Akiode to continue to use his position positively and to promote culture, tradition, and peace in his community and its environs.
