
The grand union between David Achudume, son of Apostle Lawrence Achudume, founder of Victory Life Bible Church, and Precious Chukwu, captivated the hearts of many as they exchanged vows in a spectacular wedding ceremony. The sprawling auditorium of the Victory Life Bible Church in Abeokuta was abuzz with excitement as men and women from all walks of life converged to witness the holy matrimony this saturday.
The atmosphere was electric, with guests dressed in their finest attire, showcasing their high fashion sense in various exquisitely designed traditional outfits in shades of purple and pink. The auditorium’s décor was a perfect blend of elegance and splendor, with eye-popping drapes, lighting, and audio-visual gadgets adding to the ambiance.
Pastor Tunde Bakare, Overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church, who delivered a scintillating sermon titled “A Blueprint for a Successful and Enduring Marriage” emphasized that marriage is God’s idea, not man’s, and that every individual is an ambassador of their family. He implored the couple to always be of good conduct and do that which is just and in accordance with God’s injunctions.
The smooth-talking and eloquent pastor urged the husband not to argue with his wife but to settle differences amicably. “Marriage must constantly bring pleasure to God, and you both must always work together for a lasting union,” he advised.
On his part,Governor Dapo Abiodun, represented by the Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya, congratulated the couple and described Apostle Lawrence Achudume as an embodiment of simplicity, zeal, and forthrightness. He noted that the couple perfectly complements each other and urged them to remain as one for their wedlock to stand the test of time.
In his goodwill message, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, former Governor of Ogun State, urged the couple to make Christ the pillar of their home and wished them the very best in their marriage. He emphasized that it is the joy of every parent to see their children walk down the aisle as marriage is one of the mundane obligations in life.
Speaking in like manner,Pastor Umo Bassey Uno, Governor of Akwa-Ibom State, expressed his delight in being part of the occasion, noting that Akwa-Ibom is the second home of the Achudumes. He admonished the wife to take good care of her husband and prayed that God flourishes their union.
The Ogun State Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Right Reverend Emmanuel Adekunle, officiated the ceremony, while Bishop Francis Wale-Oke presented the marriage certificate just as Bishop Funke Adejumo led other invited Ministers of God in prayer for the couple.
The ceremony was attended by a galaxy of dignitaries, including Former President Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, represented by his wife, Mrs. Bola Obasanjo; the Osile of Oke-Ona Egba, Oba Adedapo Tejuoso; and the Olowu of Owu Kingdom, Oba Saka Matemilola, represented by titled chiefs.
At the reception, Mrs. Bola Obasanjo directed the cutting of the wedding cake and took the opportunity to praise the late Reverend Fola Achudume, mother of the groom, for raising her children well. “The late Reverend Fola Achudume was a virtuous woman who built a good foundation for her children to excel in life,” she said. “She mentored thousands of people, especially the young ones, and her legacy lives on through her children.” Mrs. Obasanjo implored the couple to hold firmly to Christ for a blissful marriage, reminding them that marriage is a beautiful journey that requires commitment, love, and faith.
Apostle Lawrence Achudume, the father of the groom, danced to the admiration of many people at the well-decorated reception hall, visibly overjoyed by the union of his son and Precious Chukwu.
As the newlyweds embarked on their new life together, they were wished well by all who attended the ceremony.
