Embattled Ogun Comm Makes U-turn, Says Amosun Rejected My Resignation Letter

Less than 24hrs after he announced his departure from Amosun’s government, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Chief Jide Ojuko said he has since reversed his decision.

Ojuko made this known earlier today while fielding questions from journalists over the resignation saga in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital. The embattled Commissioner said his boss, Gov Amosun rejected his resignation letter.

It could be recalled that Ojuko had earlier tendered his letter of resignation over a directive from his boss, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, on the installation of traditional rulers in Ota, which according to him was against his “conscience”.

However, the Commissioner told journalists that Governor Amosun not only rejected his resignation but promised to look into the issues surrounding his aborted move to exit the cabinet.

Ojuko said, “The letter was a love letter between two lovers. The governor rejected my letter of resignation and all issues surrounding it were being looked into. So, I am the State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs until the end of this administration.”
