Ogun Waterside Digital Bootcamp 2.0 Kicks Off In Grandstyle

The Ogun Waterside Digital Bootcamp 2.0 officially commenced with a vibrant opening session, marked by the presence of key education stakeholders and community leaders.

The event, held at Wisdom College of Excellence (WICE) Iwopin, witnessed the esteemed attendance of representatives from the Ogun State Ministry of Education, Science & Technology, the Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools (ASUSS) Chairman, the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), the All Nigeria Conference of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPS), and members of the Ogun Waterside Patriotic Forum.

All dignitaries present delivered their goodwill messages, commending the initiative and stressing the importance of empowering young people with 21st-century digital skills. They collectively emphasized that embracing digital literacy, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies is a vital step in preparing the youth for future opportunities.

During the session, the equipment to be used throughout the bootcamp — including drones, Virtual Reality (VR) headsets, and a Smart Television — was displayed to the admiration of all present. The demonstration generated great excitement among participants.

The bootcamp, running from Monday 11th August to Saturday 16th August 2025, will cover Artificial Intelligence, Microsoft Office skills, Computer-Based Testing (CBT), and Graphics Design, alongside fun tech challenges like drone flying and VR experiences.

Students were visibly happy, enthusiastic, and eager to engage in the activities lined up for the week. The opening session concluded with a tour of the training facilities, leaving everyone inspired for the days ahead.

Highlights:

 The Technical Monitor of Wisdom College of Excellence ( WICE) welcome participants to the one week boot camp. He said the boot camp will equip students withonowledge in Computer Based Texting, Microsoft Office, Artificial Intelligence among others in line with the motto of the school: Skills for Today, Future Leaders.

Alhaji Dayo Ayenuga, the Chairperson of Ogun waterside patriotic forum ( OWPF) encouraged the learners to give in their best at the boot camp. He also called for more partnerships to enhance digitsl literacy in Ogun waterside LGA.

The Zonal Education of Ogun waterside LGA appreciated the efforts of Ogun waterside Patriotic Forum and Wisdom College of Excellence ( WICE). He used the opportunity to thank the Ogun state Ministry of Education and the state government on the digital literacy facilities and solar panels supplied to schools in the local government.

Other speakers in the education sector calls for more support to digitsl literacy in the LGA.
