
A group of youth in Ijebu East LG Area of Ogun State who are traditional adherents in their large numbers took to the major streets in Itele – Ijebu township on Wednesday to celebrate this year’s Isese Day.
The youth led by Mr Rotimi Nosiru, in their traditional attires took procession from Ijebu Itele garage straight to the palace of Oba Moyegeso of Itele to pay homage to the monarch Alaiyeluwa Oba (Engr) Mufutau Kasali where prayers were showered on them.
Masquerades such as Jigbo, Agbo and Epa were on ground to celebrate the Isese Day.
The youth commended Hon Kenny Bello for his pro-active and generosity to reach out to them when they approached him for support to celebrate the Isese Day in a grand-style.
“We approached Hon Dr Kehinde Ayodeji Bello the SSA to Gov Dapo Abiodun who is popularly known as KAB to contribute to the sponsorship of this year’s celebration. He didn’t look down on us, he welcomed us and listened to our plights. At the end of the day, he gave us some amount of money to augment our expenses. We thanked him for his kind gesture and generosity for his attention usually given to different religious activities, both Islam, christianity and we the traditional religion believers”.
“From all ramifications, we can say that Hon Bello is a non-tribalized philanthropist, trailblazer, liberal politician who doesn’t discriminate against any religion affiliation”, the Isese Convener concluded.
As of the time of filing this reports, entertainment and feasts among the traditional worshippers and their loved ones are ongoing at a place called “Oju-Oshi” in Ijebu Itele for the celebration galore till day break.
