Court Remands Notorious Land Grabber, Lamina In Prison Over Death Of Three Persons

An Ogun state High Court sitting in Sagamu on Wednesday ordered that an alleged notorious land grabber, Kamorudeen Lamina popularly known as Sir. K. Oluwo be remanded at the Sagamu Corrections Center pending the time when his counsel will file application for his bail.
Lamina, who is standing trial on a 7 – count charge bothering on murder, armed robbery, conspiracy to kill among others, was yesterday, re-arraigned formerly at the High Court II presided over by Justice Olajumi.
Prior to his re – arraignment, the alleged notorious land grabber had earlier on Monday, been granted bail when he was brought before the Sagamu High Court 1 on condition that he was entitled to bail since the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP) had failed in its responsibility to live up to expectations at prosecuting the matter.
In granting him bail on Monday, the Court 1 ordered him to produce two sureties with the likely sum of N5 million each, while Sir. K. Oluwo himself was ordered to deposit the sum of N5 million with the Court’s Registrar.
But while he was still at the Correctional Service Center, the accused, along with one of his accomplices, Wale Odusiti was re-arraigned at the High Court II in Sagamu on a 7 – count amended charges.
In the amended charge, Lamina and Odusiti were accused of being responsible for the death of three persons: Akeem Odebaru and two others over a landed property situated at Ologun village in the Shimawa axis of Sagamu local government area of the state sometimes in March, 2011.
The DPP, A.A. Adewole urged that the two accused be remember at the prison Corrections Service Center pending when his counsel will file application for his bail.
But counsel to the two accused: Barrister Abayomi Omotunbowa, who was standing in for Lamina and Barrister Ige Asonudara, also standing in for Odusiti opposed the DPP’s request, praying the court to allow their clients to continue to enjoy the bail conditions earlier granted by the High Court 1 which they said was yet to be perfected.
It would be recalled that Sir. K. Oluwo had earlier in August 2019, been arraigned at the Sagamu Magistrate Court over the same matter when he was accused of leading some hoodlums to terrorise about 13 communities in both Ogun and Lagos states.
Ruling over the matter however, the presiding judge, Justice Olajumi ordered the two counsels to appear before it again on 14th November, 2019 when the matter will be brought up, stressing that the court is not bond to grant their prayers on that day but may have to wait till January 2020.
He however, ordered that the two accused be remanded at the National Correctional Service Center in Sagamu till the adjourned date of November 14.
