A socio-cultural group, The Ijebu Associates, has called on Hon. Bolu Owotomo to make himself available to run for the 2027 Ijebu Central Federal House of Representatives seat comprising Odogbolu, Ijebu Ode and Ijebu North East local governments.
The position of the group was made known by its Secretary, Ogbeni Abimbola Sogbesan, during an interview with journalists in the Ijebu Ode yesterday.
Ogbeni Sogbesan explained that the group’s call on Owotomo to step forward and prepare himself to occupy the seat in 2027 was not coincidental, noting that he has been actively involved in several humanitarian services for indigenes and residents of Ijebu North East Local Government.
According to him, “Hon. Owotomo has influenced key projects in the Local Government Area, the most recent being the road construction project in the council. He has served in various capacities, including as Secretary of the Campaign Council of Gov Abiodun during his second-term campaign.”
He described Hon. Owotomo as “a young and vibrant politician in his 40s — quiet, soft-spoken, widely connected, and a serving member of Governor Dapo Abiodun’s cabinet as Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security.”
Ogbeni Sogbesan added that Hon. Owotomo’s ongoing tenure as Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security has brought significant transformation to farm settlements across the state, noting that longstanding backlogs of workers in some estates and settlements were cleared in recent months.
Hon. Bolu Owotomo is an indigene of Iworo, Ward 6, in the Ijebu North East Local Government Area.
