According to the new edition of the book “Courtiers” by journalist Valentine Low, King Charles III forced the most trusted aide of Queen Elizabeth II to leave the royal estate after his mother’s death.

According to a report in Page six, Low claims in his book that Queen Elizabeth II’s assistant Angela Kelly had hoped to be allowed to stay in a small house in Windsor Home Park after the king’s death. But because of the instructions of King Charles, he did not live there. This is in contrast to the common practice of gifting so-called “grace-and-favour” houses in the royal estate to long-term staff members.

Now 65-year-old Kelly began working for Queen Elizabeth as her dresser in 1994. At first, she looked after the royal clothes, jewels and decorations but over time, she had more responsibilities.

Low said in his book that “In the last years of the Queen, no one outside her family was closer to her than Angela Kelly.

“Your official title is Personal Assistant, Counselor and Guardian to Her Majesty the Queen…but you are also her confidant, your friend and the person who looks after you more than anyone else; as Kelly would tell friends, he was the queen’s guardian as well. “

Although Kelly refused to live on royal property, King Charles bought her a house in Yorkshire, England, which would revert to the crown upon her death.

“A negotiation took place in which it was proposed that the King would buy him a house near Sheffield, [England]to be near his grandchildren,” Low wrote.

“Angela is not everyone’s cup of tea, but still the King doesn’t want to be homeless. I have a feeling the King doesn’t want to live next door to him,” a source told Low.
