TRACE Warns Motorists To Observe Traffic Rules

  The most Senior Officer, Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, ( TRACE), Commander  Elias Omonayajo has urged the Motorists plying Itori-Lafarge-Papalanto axis of the old Abeokuta /Lagos Expressway to adhere strictly to traffic rules and regulations as efforts are in top gear to ease gridlock caused by on- going constructions.

He made the appeal during the official visit to decongest traffic along Itori- Lafarge-Papalanto Abeokuta/Lagos Expressway currently under reconstruction.

Commander Omonayajo said that the gridlock had been on for about three days due to the ongoing rebuilding work on both sides of the expressway, noting that TRACE officers were on ground to control and manage the traffic situation in the axis.

According to him “It is very important that they adhere to our regulations, follow what we tell them, especially at this time, so that we can seamlessly ensure the free flow of traffic. You can see the level of synergy we have with Lafarge, FRSC, the Police and other agencies here present to ensure that this goal is achieved.”

TRACE boss said that the Agency had already issued a traffic advisory for articulated vehicles and others, advising those coming from Abeokuta to divert at Ita-Oshin inbound Oke-Ata to Ilaro and Papalanto, while those coming from Sango to divert at Papalanto-Ilaro through Oke-Ata to Abeokuta.

Omonayajo, promised that his officers would be on standby to ensure constant movement of vehicles at the axis, advising motorists to be patient and cooperate with TRACE operatives to speedily ease traffic.

The Project Safety Supervisor, Craneburg Construction Company, Mr. Aputu Benedict, appealled to the motorists be patient as construction had already started at the other service line to make it more motorable.
