World Teachers Day: Kenny Bello Commends Ogun Teachers’ Steadfastness

As teachers in Ogun State join their counterparts across the globe to celebrate this year’s World Teachers Day, Hon Kenny Bello the Senior Special Assistant/General Manager OGEPA has commended the teachers in Ogun State for their steadfastness, commitment and dedication to achieving academic excellence in the State.

Hon Dr. Kenny Bello made the commendation in a statement issued to commemorate this year’s World Teachers Day by his Media Office on Sunday in Abeokuta the state capital.

The World Teachers Day was established by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 1994 as a day dedicated to acknowledge and celebrating the contributions of educators in shaping the future leaders.

According to the release, each year, UNESCO chooses a theme for the day to address current educational challenges and celebrate the teacher’s contribution. Noting that this year’s theme is “Recasting teaching as a collaborative profession” highlighting the growing importance of collaboration among teachers, communities and policy makers.

In the same vein, the OGEPA boss lauded Governor Abiodun administration’s commitment to improving education by recruiting more teachers, enhancing teacher welfare and promoting digital learning initiatives in the state which would enhance the teacher’s productivity and equip them to compete with their counterparts globally.

He also eulogized Prince Dapo Abiodun led-administration for employing thousands of additional teachers through the OgunTEACH Scheme to fill the vacant spaces in various schools across the state.

Speaking further, Dr. Kenny Bello commended teachers’ commitment to improving education with new recruits, better welfare and digital learning initiatives which has improved the educational standard, thereby leaving a good legacy in the state’s education sector
