Time For Gov Abiodun To Recover Ogun State’s Land And Properties Cornered By OGD

I am not going to talk about how OGD used his wife as a front to corner and approve for himself prime land in Ijebu Ode over which the unapproved Detkem structure was erected.

I will also not talk about the need to ask how OGD’s wife who was just a tailor before her husband became governor, came about a one billion naira property during the reign of her husband. Neither will I call for the examination of Yeye Daniel’s books by tax officials to see how she has been tax compliant.

However, there is the need for Governor Dapo Abiodun to actually save Ogun State and Ogun people from Gbenga Daniel. Till date, Daniel remains the biggest land grabber in the history of Ogun State.

The Conference Hotel in Abeokuta is on the land snatched from Lions Club of Abeokuta purportedly for “overriding public interest”, which later turned out to be Gbenga Daniel’s pecuniary interest as he first gave it to his political group called Gateway Movement before transferring to his private hospitality company Conference Hotel.

The Conference Hotel in Ijebu Ode is sitting on a land meant for judges accommodation in Ijebu Division but which OGD in his primitive acquisition took over for “overriding public interest” that turned out to be his overwhelming kleptomaniac interest.

The palatial mansion of OGD in Sagamu is built on government-owned land with some structures on it demolished by OGD. Daniel took over the land for “overriding public interest“ and converted it to personal use.

A lot of lands in prime areas of Abeokut were taken over by OGD. His unbridled forceful acquisition of public land under his nefarious regime is well documented in the report of Justice Kehinde Akinyemi Panel of Enquiry on Lands, which was set up by Senator Ibikunle Amosun when he was Governor of Ogun State.

Governor Dapo Abiodun must recover these highly valued lands and properties belonging to Ogun State Government and private groups, including the land in which its defunct newspaper group, Compass newspaper, is sitting on near Lagos border. Enough of arrant lawlessness and arrogant abuse of office by Gbenga Daniel.
