Olubadan Stops Demolition of 200 Houses In Ibadan

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rasidi Ladoja has stopped the planned demolition of about 200 houses at Isokan estate extension, Alao Akala, Elebu area in Ibadan.

Ladoja, a former governor of Oyo State, gave this order on Tuesday following series of meetings held with the affected individuals.

The order was contained in a statement signed by his media aide, Adeola Oloko.

The statement was made available to DAILY POST Wednesday morning.

Olubadan said that a certain individual identified as Mogaji Olopade Taofeek Abiola, also known as Mogaji Oloyin, claimed he has a court judgement from Ibadan High Court in his favor to reclaim the lands within the community.

It was as a result of this court judgement that made some landlords and landladies to run to the traditional ruler to save them.

The traditional ruler, after a series of meetings with the affected individuals then, directed that no house should be demolished in the are.

He then directed landlords whose house rooftops were removed to fix them back.

He also warned land grabbers to stay away from the area.

The traditional in the statement made available to DAILY POST said, “By so doing, we would be able to know who is trespassing on whose land, and what next line of action to take”.
