Aletheia University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, is reinforcing its identity as a science- and health-focused institution following the admission of 264 students at its third matriculation ceremony, with a significant concentration in medical and allied health programmes.
The admission figures revealed a strategic academic direction, as over half of the new intake—131 students—were enrolled into Medical and Allied Health Sciences, far surpassing other faculties. This trend highlights the university’s deliberate push toward producing healthcare professionals and strengthening capacity in science-driven disciplines.
The Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Olukayode Akinyemi, seized the occasion to stress the importance of discipline, integrity, and academic excellence, assuring students of a supportive learning environment backed by strong infrastructure and academic standards.
In his own remarks, the Pro-Chancellor, Dr Onikepo Akande, described the institution as forward-looking and urged students to maximize the opportunities available to them, noting the university’s steady growth trajectory.
Beyond academics, the institution also signaled its commitment to environmental responsibility by launching a tree-planting initiative during the ceremony.
Led by Akande and supported by members of the Board of Trustees and management, the exercise underscores Aletheia University’s broader sustainability agenda.
The dual focus on healthcare education and environmental stewardship positions the university as an emerging player aligning academic growth with societal needs.
